How do you determine translation pricing?
Pricing is determined based on character or word count.
For a general, nontechnical document, the unit costs are as follows:
Japanese → English: ¥10/character
English → Japanese: ¥15/word
Japanese → Chinese (Simplified): ¥6/character
Chinese (Simplified) → Japanese: ¥8/character

How long does it take to translate?
We can usually translate 2-3 A4-sized pages for same-day or next-day delivery.

Can I check translation quality before I submit an order?
Yes. We offer a 200-word (or 400-character) free trial for you to inspect our translation quality.

Can you deliver on weekends or holidays?
We can leverage our global network of offices to provide delivery from sites in different time zones and different holiday schedules.

Will the translation be checked by a native speaker?
Most certainly. We pair up each translator with a native checker.
For Japanese → English translation, we pair up a native Japanese speaker of English with a native English speaker of Japanese.

Can I communicate directly with the translator to provide detailed directions or additional information to facilitate translation?
Yes. We can even set up an on-site appointment for you to meet with the translator to discuss the context and intentions underlying the manuscript.

Can I simply order a check for a document that has already been translated?
Yes, we also perform a check-only service for documents that have already been translated. If you want us to simply check the translated document, we charge just 30% of our normal translation pricing. If you would like us to compare the translated document with its original text, it's 80% of the normal translation price.

Can we request a specific translator for our project?
Incorporating a project-specific, client-checked translation glossary, we are dedicated to translation consistency. We also offer the ability to request specific translators, so please contact us with any concerns you may have.

Creer's selection process for translators focuses on qualifications such as: having over 5 years of business experience, over 3 years of translation experience, and bilingual-level language facility. Our staff are doctorates in languages, sciences, medicine, and engineering, securities analysts, medical representatives, bankers, courtroom interpreters, and specialists in a variety of fields.

We've been translating our documents in-house. Are you able to translate documents with a high amount of special terminology and technical expressions?
Rest assured, we are able to create a translation glossary and guidelines based on previous translations, and we will contact you regarding any points of uncertainty on our part. As the drafting process progresses from first to second to third and beyond, we will tailor them to your satisfaction. We will provide you with a final draft that meets our high standard of quality.

If we send you reference materials, will you use them to facilitate translation?
The more reference material we can receive from you, the better we can tailor the translation process to your project's needs. For example, any documents the client provides can serve as input data for our development tools, increasing translation quality and efficiency even in the short term.

We do! Our San Francisco and Shanghai offices handle any non-Japanese projects concerning English or Chinese.

Yes. We can progress with the translation according to the completion timetable for the source manuscript.

Do you accept projects requiring confidentiality?
Yes, we can accept projects under confidentiality agreements. We can establish password protection for secure transmission of files, restrict access within our file management system, limit exit and entry in the project rooms concerned, and so on, to honor our commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of your sensitive information.

Will you perform revisions even following delivery and payment for a translation project?
We take responsibility for our translations, even after delivery and payment. However, depending on the nature of the change requested, revisions may require a separate fee.
